Kyle Gaughan, ALMFT
He/Him/His
Specialties: Anxiety/Depression/ADHD/Teens/Young Adults
Kyle is a career pivoter whose path to therapy began in the field of landscape architecture. After several years in the design world, he transitioned into nonprofit work supporting adults with disabilities, where his passion for helping others began to take root. Through this work, he discovered a deeper calling—to walk alongside people in their healing journeys and help them navigate life’s challenges with authenticity and care.
He earned his Master’s in Counseling Psychology from the University of San Francisco and recently returned to the Chicagoland area with his family. Kyle's clinical experience includes working with high school-aged teens navigating anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, ADHD, and mood disorders. His therapeutic approach is rooted in relational connection and a genuine desire to understand each client’s unique story. He integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and believes therapy should be tailored to meet each client’s needs.
Having spent time in California, Kyle developed an appreciation for nature and enjoys long-distance running with his wife. He is excited to be back near his extended family in Chicago and feels grateful to reestablish roots at home.
