Sarah Carollo, LCSW
She/Her/Hers
Sarah earned a Bachelor’s of Social Work from Hope College and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago. Her interest in mental health began as an adolescent and blossomed over various volunteer and work experiences throughout the North Shore over the past decade. Sarah began her social work career with a five-year tenure at a pediatric hospital providing both inpatient and outpatient therapeutic support to children and families. Through this experience Sarah successfully supported families through traumatic injuries and chronic illnesses, effectively walking families through both crisis and non-crisis journeys.

During her time in the hospital setting, Sarah developed an interest in working with clients facing mental health crises. Sarah primarily works with children, adolescents, and young adults with a special focus in trauma, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and disordered eating. She uses a broad range of therapeutic techniques and does not believe in a “one size fits all” approach for clients, though her therapy sessions often utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

Sarah possesses expertise in the mental health system in Illinois and is able to connect clients to various different levels of care. Sarah partners with school counselors, physicians, psychiatrists, and various other professionals to ensure a wrap-around approach is being leveraged in order to meet a client’s bio-psycho-social needs.

Sarah currently resides in Chicago. When she isn’t at work, she enjoys finding new parts of the city to explore. Sarah is an admitted “amateur foodie,” always looking to try Chicago’s newest restaurants and oldest hidden gems. Sarah loves attempting new recipes from the NYT cooking app and will forever be in experiential learning mode.
